I have been meaning to post about our trip for a few weeks now. When we got back the Parade of Homes started and I have not found time to post. So, here it is. We had a wonderful time. It was so great to see old friends. The first day we were there we went to our friends Jane and Jon's house. It was so great to see where they lived. I had pictured it many times from Jane's descriptions. It was nothing like I had imagined. We were able to spend the afternoon with them. They made us a delicious dinner and we ate out in the backyard and enjoyed the beautiful weather. After spending the day with them we headed to our hotel. The next day was our first at Disneyland. We had a blast. Haley was in heaven. That night we met our friends Michelle and Dave for dinner. Then were able to go see their house after dinner. It was such a blessing to get time with them. We stayed up way too late even though Michelle had to catch an early flight the next day to Dallas. The next day we spent at Disneyland again. We went to the new california adventure park at Disneyland. I enjoyed this new addition as it had many roller coasters. Unfortunately, I had to go by myself. No one would brave the roller coaster that went upside down with me. I loved every minute of it by myself. The next day we decided to go to Santa Monica and shop the promenade. We were going to venture to the beach, but it was windy and cold that day. Jane met us for lunch on the promenade. It was great to have more time with her. Once we were done with shopping we decided to head to Hollywood. We went to Beverly Hills and Rodeo Drive. Then we headed to Hollywood. We had a great day exploring. The next day was our last day at Disneyland. We picked a few rides we wanted to revisit and called it a day. Haley of course had to go meet all the princesses. We headed back the next day to Kansas City where we spent the weekend celebrating my cousins confirmation in the Catholic church.
It was a great trip. I wish it didn't have to end. Since we have been back we have been super busy with the Parade of Homes. This is our last weekend and so far despite the rain and weather it has been successful. Once the parade is over Howie and I can focus more on building our new home and getting more settled in Wichita. It is hard to believe we have almost been here for a year. I feel like we just moved. We know that God has great plans for us here even though we greatly miss our friends from Kansas City. We are excited to see all He has in store.
